This Committee meets several times a year and is staffed by Jennifer Sunstrom (RANW Government Affairs Director). Discussions of the Committee focus on current events at the federal, state and local levels of government. Particular attention is given to issues affecting the real estate industry at the local and state level. Speakers are invited to address the Committee on current issues of importance and include federal, state and local elected officials, business leaders, and key REALTOR® Association Staff from WRA and NAR. The GA Committee will recommend candidates for local elected office to the Board of Directors. Association endorsement can include support and/or financial support for Committee recommended and Director approved candidates.

The 2005 Chairman of the Government Affairs Committee is Pat Kaster (River City Realtors). The Chairman position changes each year to ensure equal representation from throughout Northeast Wisconsin.

The Government Affairs Committee also has a subcommittee that meets based on need. They take up issues that need immediate attention and also review larger issues and make recommendations to the larger Government Affairs Committee. Members of this subcommittee are shown with an asterisk following their name.
